He smiled softly at her.

"I have been married four times already. I have never felt the way I feel about you with any of them. I promise I will never regret making you my wife."

She was a bit shocked when he said he had been married four times, she also heard what he said about him never regretting it... this was all moving kind of fast as she put her hand on her head.

Sandee: Just hold up, I didn't say yes, did I?

She said as she didn't remember much when she passed out, but she was taken back.

Sandee: This is all happening so fast, I mean marriage is a big step, and I'm planning on leaving in a day or so for a job, and well we never even talked or tried dating or anything...

She said shocked not realizing he was just trying to prevent her from leaving, not wanting to risk her going.

He frowned when she said that.

"We have done nothing except talk for the past few days. And we did go to the ball together. That counts as a date."

She looked at him ..

Sandee: Yeah a few days, that is it, and sure we can count the ball as a date, that still isn't dating... We hardly know each other well enough to get married.  Heck a week ago you were hating me because you thought I was trying to get a story at the hospital.

She pointed out.

He nodded and sighed.

"In my defense, that has been my complete experience with reporters until I met you. I did trust you enough to bring you into my home. I also showed you things that I have never shown anybody else."

She thought about it, as she looked at him... She had let him do things that she had never let anyone else, this was all a bit much too soon.

Sandee: I just think marriage is a big step when we are just getting to know each other.

He saw his brother leave the room finally. He sat on the bed beside Sandee.

"How about this then? The two of us only date each other. We get to know each other and see where things go. We leave marriage a possibility for the future."

Sandee: that sounds fair.

He kissed her softly.

Sandee looked at him as she was thinking about all of this, she wanted to work with him a bit as she knew he had put a lot out there when he asked her to get married so she was willing to do this as she thought about it.

Sandee: I will.

He tucked the blanket around her.

"You rest. If you need anything, I'll be in my room."

He kissed her softly.

"Sweet dreams, Sandee."

She kissed him back as she looked at him.

Sandee: Sweet dreams.

She smiled a bit as she was watching him go as she snuggled into the bed a bit thinking about everything.

He went back to his room and called Dani.

"I couldn't stop her. You will have to do it yourself."

"He's fucking you, but he fired you? That's cold."

He sighed and gave her his address.

"Come stay here. I have room for you."

His house was becoming a hotel for the Sweet sisters it seemed, but that was fine. Dani was a good friend, and Sandee's sister. He couldn't leave her on the streets.

"I'll think of something to fix all of this."

Sandee couldn't sleep as she got up, she felt a bit wobbly holding her head a bit, as she didn't realize she had even hurt herself until she tried to move.  She walked into the bathroom as she figure a hot shower would help her relax as she stripped down and then climbed in the shower thinking about everything.

Robert heard her up and went to check on her. He found her in the shower.

"There is a shower seat there. You may want to set down."

She jumped a bit startled as she didn't even hear him come in.  As soon as he noticed her losing her balance he was there catching her as she gasped a bit.

Sandee: Sorry, guess I'm still a little off balance.

She said as he didn't say anything just turning off the water and wrapping her in a towel as he carried her out.

He laid her on the bed and laid down beside her.

"I'm going to stay with you tonight. I want to make sure you are okay."

She smiled a bit when he said that as she thought that was a really sweet thing for him to do.

Sandee: That is really sweet of you, but you don't have to do that.

She said not wanting to be a burden or anything.

Robert: I want too.

He said as he looked at her.

Sandee: Thank you.

He tucked the covers around both of them and wrapped his arms around her.

"You have a concussion. I'm going to have to wake you every hour tonight."

She hadn't thought about that as she didn't want to make him stay awake like that.

Sandee: I could just stay awake for awhile.

She said as it was something she was use too.

He smiled softly.

She smiled a bit as she was nodding as she was thinking about it.

She said as she was thinking about it, as they were chatting a bit, sharing some personal things about each other, just getting comfortable with each other.

Sandee looked at him as she was thinking about it.  She didn't want to make him talk about it if he wasn't wanting too.

Sandee: If you want too.

She said as she was leaving it up to him.

He wanted to tell her. He knew that it was important if they were going to have any kind of relationship.

"I was only 16 when I got married the first time. She was 15. We were young, stupid, and thought we were in love. That marriage lasted long enough for both our parents to find us and force an annulment. Less than a year."

Sandee laid against him as she was hearing him talk about his first marriage as she was thinking about it.

Sandee: Oh, wow.

He smiled thinking about his first wife.

"She's married now with three kids."

He sighed when he thought about his second wife.

"My second wife was amazing. I loved her very much. She was the woman I thought I would spend the rest of my life with."

Sandee sat there listening to him as she was thinking a bit, she just let him go on talking, as she listened to him.

He stared off into space as he talked about Julia. 

"She died of breast cancer not long after our third anniversary. I still miss her a lot. Still find myself talking to her and waiting for her to come home even though I know she never will."

He wiped a tear from his cheek.

"Next was Nanette. She is what my dad calls a boomerang girl. I was angry about losing Julia and married Nanette just to show my family that I was okay even though I wasn't. That doesn't make a very good marriage."

She sat there thinking about all that he had said, and was doubting if she could ever measure up.  He had all the experience and she had none, and he still wasn't even really over one... She was biting her lip a bit as she was thinking about it.

Sandee: I'm sorry.

He thought about his last wife and shook his head.

"The last one, Cindy, she is the reason I hate reporters so much."

He felt her start to pull away.

"Stay still."

He kissed her softly.

"You and your sister are the exceptions."

He waited for her to settle back in his arms.

"Cindy didn't tell me she was a reporter. She told me that she wrote books. Since I'm not a big reader, I didn't think to question it. She made me fall for her, married her in a quick little thing at the court house, then a few weeks later I found out that she was a reporter who had just used me to get a good story about the dangers of the porn industry."

Sandee had heard this part from David awhile back, and it was pretty well known about what happened there as she was sitting there thinking about it.  She sat there thinking about it, knowing that some people could be very heartless, something she had learned in her line of work.

He shook his head.

"Don't be sorry. I learned from it. I learned not to give my heart away to anybody unless I am very sure of that person. I also learned not to jump into marriage blind."

She was laying their with Robert when she heard her phone go off, she looked at her cell phone seeing it was Robert.

Sandee: I wonder what he wants this time of night.

She said as she answered the phone.

She heard something off in his voice as she knew something wasn't right.  She started to move as she got out of the bed.

Sandee: I'm coming into the office.

She said hanging up the phone before he could answer.

She said looking at Robert as she was starting to get dressed wanting to find out what was going on.  She gave her Robert a kiss before she went heading out to her car and to the paper, where she saw Robert in his office pacing around.

Sandee: What's going on? Where is Danni?

She asked not use to seeing him with out her.

Sandee looked at him when he said that as she wasn't about to leave.  If something was going on, and there was a threat she was going to be there for him.  He was more than her boss, he was her friend, they were all there for each other, or at least that is what she thought.

He showed her his phone as she was reading the text messages that he got, she frowned a bit thinking about it.  She knew this wasn't the way to work it out.

Sandee: You should of told her what was going on.  They aren't going to stop, and now she is isolated and in even more danger. 

She said as she was worried that was the main plan... To get them all separated...

Sandee: we need to call her, and get her back here.  No one is to be alone...

She was also going to contact Destiny, they weren't going to mess around and risk anything..

Sandee: We fight back, we always fight back.

She said as she handed him back the phone as she called Danni first, happy she was with Colin right now, and filled her in on what was going on.  She also called Destiny, then called Robert, as she knew they were just starting a relationship and she wasn't going to start keeping secrets.
